Gold for ZINQ

Celle. Red carpet and big stage, an electrifying evening full of excitement and capers were awaiting over 400 invited representatives of the construction industry in the Lower Saxon Celle on November 8, 2018. It was not about a solemn get-together, but about the renowned Architects' Darling Awards: Who can boast of being the darling of architects and holding the golden trophy in their hands? In the "Cradle to Cradle Challenge Award" category, the ZINQ group immediately convinced on first participation.

The laudatory speakers Jörg Kreuder, General Sales Manager at Heinze, and Prof. Thomas Knerer from Knerer and Lang Architekten led the festive evening. The Cradle to Cradle Challenge Award was presented in the usual manner by "eco-visionary" Prof. Dr. Michael Braungart. Michael Braungart summed up the top placement of the ZINQ group:

 

"ZINQ does not just own Cradle to Cradle certified products. They go much further than others. Cradle to Cradle is innovation, quality and design. ZINQ internalized this. Cradle to Cradle is an integral part of the company's philosophy and identity."

 

 

The nineteen-member jury headed by Prof. Dr. Michael Braungart was completely convinced and named ZINQ the winner of the Cradle to Cradle Challenge Award at first participation of competition.

Cradle to Cradle – the concept:

Cradle to Cradle^® (C2C) is a design concept that has nature as its model. All products are designed according to the principle of a potentially unlimited circular economy. Cradle to Cradle differs from conventional recycling and the concept of eco-efficiency. In contrast to the teaching of efficiency in the use of energy and resources, in the C2C philosophy the use of resources is not a question of quantity but of quality. The prerequisite is the use of high-quality, "good" materials and the possibility to maintain material quality at all times in closed circuits - away from "less from the wrong" towards "more from the right". The aim of positive footprint is not a question of scale. Cradle to Cradle is a concrete concept with an ISO-compliant certification as evidence of implementation of specifications. Thus, the implementation of the C2C principle is also possible on an industrial scale, if processes and products are created, designed and implemented according to C2C principles.
