ZVO Surface Days 2018 with ZINQ

Leipzig attracts with most extensive program so far

Zentralverband Oberflächentechnik e. V. invites to this year's ZVO Surface Days in Leipzig. From 19th to 21st September the international participants are awaiting again an attractive, six-part program with more than 90 lectures and even more in the Congress Center Leipzig. Among other things, Dr. Birgitt Bendiek, Managing Director of ZINQ® Technologie GmbH, gives presentation about new methods for determining corrosion protection performance of zinc and zinc-aluminum coatings applied by hot-dip galvanizing.

The treatment of surfaces is a key technology for technical-scientific, economic and ecological solution of current problems in the development of innovative products. The annual Surface Days of Zentralverband Oberflächentechnik e. V. (ZVO) in September make an important contribution in this direction.

Main goal of the Surface Days is systematic networking of research and practice on the subject of electroplating and surface technology and the support of cross-industry communication. The development of new application areas for galvanic coatings and increasing demands on coated surfaces as well as the handling of new legal regulations at EU and federal level are the key issues of the Surface Days. The specialised audience from development, construction, design and production benefits from their practical orientation.

Networking of research and practice

With 665 participants in Berlin last year, the annual Surface Days have become one of the leading surface forums for users, buyers of surfaces, scientists, developers, designers, purchasers, QM and sales staff from all industrial sectors.

Also in 2018, ZVO expects numerous international participants, who will use the diverse options for mutual information and joint discussions as a basis for future developments in their respective segments. The ZVO Congress has always attached special importance to cross-border exchange of ideas.

Salt spray test and possible alternatives: Quo vadis?

Among the speakers at this year's ZVO Surface Days is Dr. Birgitt Bendiek from ZINQ® Technologie GmbH. Under the presentation title "New methods for determining the corrosion protection performance of zinc and zinc aluminum coatings applied by hot-dip galvanizing", common short-term corrosion protection tests were screened in cooperation with Fraunhofer Institute and new, more precise methods for the determination of corrosion protection performance of batch galvanized surfaces were investigated. The results will be presented for the first time to the visitors of the ZVO Surface Days.
