microZINQ® as second ZINQ® hot dip galvanizing surface Cradle to Cradle® certified

Following the award of the first Cradle to Cradle® certification for duroZINQ® surface in 2013, microZINQ® as a thin-film hot dip galvanizing process of the technology provider and licensor of hot dip galvanizing industry ZINQ® Technologie GmbH has now also received the special certification.

 

Therefore all ZINQ® hot dip galvanizing surfaces are now certified according to Cradle to Cradle®-standards. In general Cradle to Cradle® doesn´t know any waste; instead products are already evaluated in the development and production process for the next use phase and already in this early phase optimized for their later material life.

The US Environmental Protection Agency ranks Cradle to Cradle® product certification among the most meaningful and demanding standards and eco-labels. Due to this latest certification, the surfaces duroZINQ® and microZINQ® guarantee 100 % recyclability in consistent high quality. In addition, they are free of non-recyclable substances in the process and on the product - already today in accordance with the requirements of the EU Circular Economy Guidelines.

Since 2010, ZINQ® Technologie has been working together with the Environmental Protection Encouragement Agency (EPEA) in Hamburg, which, in turn, has been defined as a licensed auditor by the American C2CPII. The actual certificate, as handed over to ZINQ, was issued by the Americans. As an auditor, the German EPEA has embarked on the path of consistent review and conversion of all material cycles.

After completing all tests, ZINQ offers the world's only "Cradle to Cradle®" certified products in the field of surface technology, allowing closed material cycles in the process and on the product.
